IIA Greater NOIDA Chapter organized a seminar on “CHALLENGES & OPPORTUNITIES FOR SME's” on 31 May, 2010 at Greater NOIDA to which the members from neighboring chapters, viz. NOIDA & Ghaziabad were also invited.
Shri Iftakharuddin, IAS, Commissioner & Director Industries, U.P. was the Chief Guest at the seminar. Officers of Government Departments like DIC, Trade Tax, Labour, PF, ESI, Greater NOIDA Authorities and Gautam Budh Nagar administration were also present on the occasion.
Shri Rajiv Sood, Chairman, Greater NOIDA Chapter while opening the seminar, made an audio visual presentation on the challenges that the SMEs have to face while running their operations in the state of Uttar Pradesh, particularly in Gr. NOIDA. He widely covered the SME's issues related to sectors such as power, trade tax, maintenance of industrial sites, compulsion of registration with different departments and taking unnecessary approvals at various stages in routine expansion/diversification and encroachment problems in the industrial sites in Greater NOIDA. He also put forward specific suggestions like re-activation of the Single Window System, provision of Uninterrupted Power, Abolition of Form 38, Freedom for the entrepreneurs to carry out any industrial activity as long as the activity is not on the Negative or Restricted List of the Govt., introduction of Self Assessment Scheme for Trade Tax on the pattern of Self Assessment for Income Tax and introduction of Common Effluent Treatment Plant for each Industrial area.
Shri Anil Gupta, President, IIA, in his speech contributed his own observations and experiences on the numerous challenges faced by the SME sector. He further requested all IIA members to actively participate in the debates, programmes and other activities organized by IIA and send their views to IIA Head Office regularly on relevant issues.
Shri Iftakharuddin, Commissioner & Director of Industries, U.P informed the participants about the efforts of U.P Government towards betterment of power situation, different promotional schemes of Govt. of U.P for SME's and instructed all the Government officials to organize regular meeting with IIA,keep them informed on various schemes of the Government for SME's, adopt a friendly attitude towards them and issue approvals immediately to the SME's.
The seminar ended with the vote of thanks delivered by Shri Jitendra Pareek, Secretary, IIA.
