Rekha Gupta, a 65-year-old lady, is the ideal example of those women who want to achieve something in their lives. She started her own business in partnership at a very small scale in 1976, but now she is owner of more than six industries. She entered in business by starting cottage textile industry and now her group has become a brand in electronic equipment. Although most of her factories are located in Gautam Budh Nagar, her dream project is established in Haridwar. She has faced lot of ups and downs in her career. Rekha's native town is Muradabad. She got married in 1967 to DP Gupta, a resident of Karnal.Rekha said, "My husband had passed his B Tech from IIT Kharagpur in 1963-64. After completing his studies, he joined a British company in London. After spending few years there, he left his job and came back to India. At that time our home was located in Delhi. Suddenly, one friend of my husband came from London and said that he urgently requires 3 lakh pieces of shirts. As I had interest in business, I showed interest in fulfilling this order in front of my husband."

Sold shirts in open market: Rekha further said, "I started my factory in partnership with my friend in Naraina, Delhi, but my husband's friend backed at the last moment, while we had already prepared his order." "After that we sold our all shirts in open market and started preparing orders for others, but my husband did not like it as sometimes I reached home late in night," Rekha added.

Started first factory in Sector 4: “Then I left that work and started preparing MCB (Miniature Circuit Breaker) switches." I started my first factory in Sector 4, Noida and after that I opened four more factories in a row in different sectors of the city. I am looking forward to set up my dream project in Haridwar, which is the biggest factory of my group where many other electrical products will be produced."

Clubbed personal life with professional work: Rekha said, "Success always asks for sacrifice. You cannot get anything without sacrificing anything. That's all I have done. I have given sacrifice of my personal life to achieve my dream. I clubbed my personal life with professional work. I have three sons. Two sons are settled abroad, whereas the youngest one is helping me in my business.

Contributed in solving women's personal issues: Rekha is also the president of Mahila Udyami Sangathan. She has done a lot of work in the field of rehabilitation of women. She has also given her contribution for solving their personal issues. She worked hard to provide women land for their industries in Noida and Greater Noida. She has also contributed in making Mahila Udyami Park, which is located in Greater Noida. She is also the vice chair person of Indian Industries Association (Noida Chapter).
