One Stop Information Destination for MSME Entrepreneurs

The Need

Indian Industries Association(IIA)-an apex body of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises(MSME), founded in 1985, over the years of its operation realized that the lack of easy access to information services are a key bottleneck in the development of MSME’s. Information, being the key input in ensuring competitiveness of any sector cannot be ignored, hence, IIA pondered over the idea of setting up an information facility for MSMEs which would enable easy, efficient and low cost access to information under one roof.

Thus, MSME KNOWLEDGE BANK(MKB) came into existence as a joint venture of IIA and SIDBI in the year 2003, it was formerly known as Small Industries Information Survice centre(SIISC).

The Beginning

MKB launched its services from October 1st, 2003 at IIA Head Office, IIA Bhawan, Gomti Nagar, Lucknow. It is today thriving as a Dynamic, Resourceful, Web enabled Information Service for MSMEs.

OBJECTIVES

• To equip the MSME entrepreneurs with all the relevant information required for setting up and running the enterprise in an efficient and hassle-free manner.
  
• Help MSME in widening the market sphere through Internet and E-Commerce
  
• To provide & facilitate specialized consultancy for Setting up/Running an industry, Technology Up-gradation, Credit Availability, Taxation etc.
  
• To facilitate youths to set up new enterprises
