Transforming MSME Towards Industry 4.0 & 48

Micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) play a major role in most economies, especially in developing countries. MSMEs are important contributors to growing businesses, employment generation and global economic growth across the world. They represent approximately 90% of businesses and more than 50% of employment worldwide. In developed economies, the average contribution of formal MSMEs to national income (GDP) is 48 percent. At the same time, the contribution of MSMEs in GDP in India is only 33 percent. In the direction of making India a developed nation we have to increase the contribution of MSME in GDP to 48 percent. As a result of the ambitious plans of the Government of India under the leadership of Honourable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, India is rapidly moving towards becoming a developed nation and will soon become a 5 trillion dollar economy. The participation of Uttar Pradesh in the economic development of India is very remarkable, the role of MSMEs of Uttar Pradesh is very important in this path. Under the leadership of Honourable Chief Minister Shri Yogi Adityanath, Uttar Pradesh will soon become a 1 trillion dollar economy. The first Industrial Revolution, which began in Britain in the late 18th century, helped enable large-scale production using water and steam power rather than purely human and animal power. Finished goods were made using machines instead of laboriously preparing them by hand. A century later, the Second Industrial Revolution introduced assembly lines and the use of oil, gas, and electricity. Along with more advanced communications via telephone and telegraph, these new power sources brought a degree of automation to mass produc tion and manufacturing processes.

The Third Industrial Revolution, which began in the mid-20th century, added computers ,advanced telecommunications, and data analysis to manufacturing processes. The digitalization of factories began by embedding Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) into machinery to automate certain processes and help collect and share data. Today we are in the midst of the fourth wave of technological advancement – Industry 4.0 – characterized by new technologies that integrate the physical and digital worlds. Today, Industry 4.0 includes implementing metadata, robotics, Internet of Things (IoT), Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning and cloud services for automation and autonomous operations in industries. Along with all these services and various policies and projects of the government for the upliftment of MSMEs, some institutions also need to come forward. One such organization which has been working shoulder to shoulder with the government for the development of MSMEs for the last four decades is the Indian Industries Association. IIA has been instrumental in benefiting MSMEs by providing them with valuable information on legal and technical aspects, latest developments in the industry and market, latest government policies, procedure and laws from time to time IIA is determined towards Transforming MSME Towards Industry 4.O & 48, for which IIA has resolved to increase the MSME of Uttar Pradesh. It is the dream of every MSME to rapidly complete the journey of becoming a micro to small, small to medium and medium to large enterprise. But many challenges have to be faced in this journey due to which 70% of MSMEs are not able to progress beyond the first generation. We believe that there are 5-10% such entrepreneurs in MSMEs who have passion for growth. To grow those members, IIA has created an MSME Health Card so that MSMEs can find out the ir own s trengths and weaknesses from time to time. You can use IIA's Senior Expert Services (SES) to work on your weaknesses and grow your enterprise manifold. Taking MSME along and keeping in mind the various policies of the government,IIA will work on the following five points, which will be expanded from time to time.

  • Entrepreneurs have to move forward rapidly in the direction of Digital Transformation.
  • MSMEs have to be encouraged towards automation so that along with production, products can also be improved.
  • Every kind of assistance is being prov ided to MSMEs towards developing the domestic market as well as the international market. For this there is IIA Export Facilitation Center and Defense Facilitation Center.
  • Customized training programs will be developed that are suitable not only for youth entering the workforce but also for those impacted by the adoption of new technology.
  • Full support will be provided towards making MSMEs financially self-reliant. By developing tailored strategies, collaborating with technology providers, skilling the workforce, and overcoming financial constraints, MSMEs can successfully adopt automation and take advantage of the opportunities presented by Industry 4.0. This vision Transforming MSMEs towards Industry 4.0 and 48 will not be achieved by the work of one day, one month or one year, it is a continuous campaign through which India will become a prosperous and developed country. IIA has always played an important role in the all - round development of MSMEs, and will continue to be committed to their growth and success in the era of Industry 4.0 so that the contribution of MSMEs to GDP can reach 48 percent.
